DANIEL BENJAMIN VILLENA
Benj Villena is a visual artist and award-winning motion graphic designer with over a decade of experience in broadcast communication. Having grown up with parents who are in the creative field, his love for the arts grew naturally. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication from UP Diliman, Benj delved into design when he became an art director at GMA. A self-taught animator, he became interested in motion graphics when he became part of TV5. There, he was able to hone his craft and eventually, lead a team of artists as Motion Graphic Supervisor. He later joined XS Multimedia as an Associate Creative Director. Throughout his life, Benj has always been fascinated with images and its transformative effect. With Chris Egan’s unwavering support and God’s grace, Benj found refuge in his craft after a stint in rehab for substance abuse. He believes in the healing force of art, self-reflection, and God through Jesus Christ. Rising above the challenges, he now leads a team of Art Directors, Visualizers, and Animators with passion and determination.
Benj also dabbles in photography, specializing in dynamic portraits and cityscape. When he’s not behind the camera, Benj likes to spend his time in the kitchen, cooking for his family and loved ones.
